(fix) fixed diff so it works with list of paths rather than a single file.... 

(fix) fixed diff so it works with list of paths rather than a single file. Merged dev into 57 branch to keep it up with the latest changes. Removed copy from a test which was from the previous implementation of diff. All tests pass. #57
