@Anderson - potentially a neat way to keep data in a repository (or reduce bloat from images etc) and use version control to track it.
I don't trust myself, .gitignore, gitlab or github. Accidents happen :-) If they're .gitignore'd then there's not much point having them in the repo cos they don't get synched anywhere automatically. So I just copy them to where I need them. I used to have them in ~/Dropbox/keys/ but got a bit nervous about that too
Interesting ... so you don't trust gitignore? In the project where we are using AWS I have added the whole keys directory to the ignore file, in this case I wanted to include an example.
@twr1m15 that's a whole lot of trust in .gitignore! Personally I'd keep that key out of the repo completely - I use ~/keys !
